HVUR will be hosting five family-friendly team events this season! We welcome all Huron Valley United team members and their families to join us.

Our hope is that while enjoying fun activities together like going on a group night ride, tubing and kayaking down the river, as well as volunteering together to support athletes at their triathlon, our group will create connections and confidence that will support them on and off the trails for years to come.

These events are intended for the family to enjoy together and are not drop-off events for students. Due to the potential size for each event, we ask that at least one adult (parent or guardian) is present per registered family. This allows the hosting volunteers to focus their energy on managing the logistics of the event, ensuring a successful and fun time for everyone.

Please note that although most of our scheduled events will be completely free for the family to join, there may be a cost associated with a few of the events due to necessary equipment rentals or ticket purchases. Events will be clearly marked with any additional expenses in the description and on the calendar event so that you will know of any potential costs ahead of time, allowing you to RSVP only the events that interest your family.

2026-2027 Event Details and Registration Links

Our first scheduled event for 2026 is volunteering as a group to support athletes participating in the Running Fit Triceratops Triathlon event, Wednesday June 24th, 2026.

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available to us, so be sure to check out the list and sign up with a group of your friends for the volunteer role that interests you. All volunteers will receive an event T-shirt and a $40 credit towards a future Running Fit event of their choice.

** Please note that there are three events listed on the Running Fit volunteer registration page. You will need to be sure that you are selecting the Triceratops Triathlon assignment while registerting.

There is no fee to participate in this event. We look forward to seeing you there and volunteering together!

Everyday feeling like leg day?

Join us instead to cool off and paddle (or float) as a team down the Huron River!

We are fortunate to have such great parks and trail systems in our local area. Our team river day is a great opportunity to get a different perspective and explore the river and water ways that run along the parks and trails we know so well.

If you have your own canoe, kayak, or paddle board you are welcome to join us using that. If you do not have your own equipment, no problem! Rentals are available through Heavner Canoe for an additional fee.

A link for registration as well as more details regarding what to bring, where to launch, and how to place your rental through the group reservation will be provided in early July.

This event is free to join. There is only a fee to participate if you will be renting equipment through Heavner Canoe.

Join us at the LaFontaine Family Amphitheater in Central Park for a cozy fall moonlight matinee. You'll bring blankets and or chairs to enjoy comfortable seating on the lawn, and we’ll provide the movie, popcorn, and drinks!

Additional information regarding the movie title and the start time will be available in early July. This event is free to join and we look forward to seeing you there!

In event of a busy evening at the park, please be sure to read this for information regarding local parking ordinances during events.

Join us for a night ride on Milford Trail!

This ride will be different from team practices as we will be riding at night and starting/ending our ride at Central Park, rather than at Janowski Field . We will also be celebrating the completion of our full lap of Milford Trail with pizza and drinks in the park pavilion after.

This event is free to participate in. The use of bike lights are required to safely participate in this ride. To be sure that we are able to organize groups ahead of time and have the appropriate number of certified coaches available, registration in advance for this event is also required. Join us for snow tubing at the Hawk Island County Park in Lansing Michigan. We had so much fun this past winter that we’re heading back for another snow tubing adventure in 2027!

This is a very popular event and the process of securing a group of tickets on any date is a bit challenging. For this reason there will be multiple dates listed for this activity at registration in the event that our first date choice becomes unavailable when attempting to purchase tickets for the group. Please be sure all of the dates listed work for your family before registering.

We understand that having possible dates for an event can make committing to the event challenging and some circumstances may pop up unexpectedly. If you register for this event and we have purchased tickets for a date that no longer works for you, we may be able to transfer your tickets to another family or refund your tickets through the park, but we will have a very limited window to ask the park for refunds, so please keep an eye on event announcements for the latest updates and ticket information, letting us know as soon as you can if there is a conflict.

A link for registration as well as the date windows and times for this event will be provided in early July. We will have a firm close to registration for this event November 30th, 2026 so that we are able to make the group ticket purchase in advance.

This event requires advanced tickets purchased through Hawk Island County Parks, and as a result will require a per person fee with registration to participate.
